For well over a hundred years in the United States the image conjured by the pairing of the colors blue and gray has not been one of harmony. Fortunately, as this image submitted to the Wingscapes BirdCam Photo Gallery by David in Cary, NC shows, these colors need not represent conflict but can peacefully exist side by side.
This Gray Catbird and Eastern Bluebird pair seem not in the least bothered by the associations of their respective hues and are quite content to share a tasty meal of suet; certainly a lesson for us all.
