Bottoms Up!

Birds can be remarkably resourceful. Regardless of the obstacle, if there is something they need they will find a way to reach it. Take this American Goldfinch image recently submitted to the Wingscapes BirdCam Photo Gallery by BirdCam user extraordinaire David from Cary, NC.

The goldfinch has realized that there is water to be found at the bottom of the ant barrier reservoir in the center of this hummingbird feeder. The problem is that the feeder surface is not a good one for perching. Thus, he took a hint from the local chickadees and nuthatches, and approached problem from an unconventional angle.

This weekend we took one of our BirdCams out and tried it out for ourselves.  Nice product--we got some great pictures.  We are starting a blog to promote our ecommerce site, and we wanted an easy way to start taking pictures in our backyard.
